Moscow government's material aid granted to Bendery veterans

Veterans can also be supplied on request with medical equipment: tonometers, hearing-aids and wheelchairs

Bendery, 23 November. /Novosti Pridnestrovya"/. Different categories of Bendery veterans, including Great Patriotic War and labour veterans, were granted material aid from the Moscow government at an amount of 3,000 roubles per person. Today, over 60 Bendery veterans received it in the office of the municipal veterans' council. According the chairwoman of Pridnestrovie's Union of Russian Communities, Viorika Kokhtareva, a total of 300 Pridnestrovians will receive this material aid.

«It is the annual practice. For 10 years now the Moscow government has provided such assistance. Over the past three years we have repeatedly requested to increase a quota for Pridnestrovie. The quota has been increased from 100 to 300 — 400 persons. We owe a debt of gratitude to the Moscow government for this work and for the assistance it provides," said Viorika Kokhtareva in an interview with journalists.

Besides, veterans can be supplied on demand with medical equipment: tonometers, hearing-aids and wheelchairs. According to the chairman of Bendery's Union of War, Labour and Army Veterans, Yury Ilyashenko, veterans appreciate very much such consideration on the part of Russia.

«This is very significant as our veterans felt Russia's support. They express gratitude to Russia and dream that Russia will recognise us and we'll be full members of the commonwealth," he said in an interview.

These activities take place in all cities and regions across Pridnestrovie. This is just one sphere of Russia's support for Pridnestrovie, alongside such large-scale humanitarian projects as the construction of social facilities by ANO Eurasian Integration, pension increments and school meals.
