Today, 2 September, there are mass celebrations in the central streets of Tiraspol to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. A rich festive programme has been organised for Tiraspol residents and guests. It is divided into thematic sections and everyone can choose something interesting to his taste.
Thus, Shevcheko St (from 25 October St to Sverdlov St) is occupied by craftsmen and needlewomen from all over Pridnestrovie. At the fair Artisans' Pridnestrovie you can purchase beautiful pictures, silk headscarves, handmade decorated earthenware and wooden ware, articles from tissue, paper, glass beads and other materials.
Nearby there are exhibitions of industrial and textile production.
Agricultural goods are traditionally displayed in Lunacharskiy St, where the selectionists from the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources present new hybrids of vegetables. It is here the thematic section La Izvorul Vinului [At the Spring of Wine] offers the production of canning, wine and brandy, and bread-baking factories. Private businessmen offer to taste and buy their honey and various sorts of grape.
The sale was accompanied with the performance by the Pridnestrovian National Company of Dance and Folk Music Viorica, Pridnestrovian National Choir and students of Pridenstrovian State Institute of Arts.
In front of the House of Books, Pridnestrovie's vocational education institutions showed the achievements of their students. Anyone could try his hand in surgery, check blood pressure and enjoy being a finance director. To make their presentation of a wide range of specialities more interesting, the students prepared a concert programme.
It should be noted that this evening from 17:00 to 19:00 as part of the festive concert marathon Republic's Anniversary — People's Anniversary, on-stage performance groups will give concerts in October District, Kirovskiy District, and Western District.
During the day all branches of the Tiraspol Joint Museum are holding the open day and everyone can get acquainted with the history of the native land and new expositions.
