Yevgeny Shevchuk urges all power branches to consolidate

"It is generating positive ideas we should compete in", said Pridnestrovie's president

President Yevgeny Shevchuk is urging the Supreme Council and the government to take common consolidated actions which will be aimed at taking anti-crisis steps in the economy.

This is what the head of state said during the news conference dedicated to Pridnestrovie's 25th anniversary.

He said it was unacceptable that in the crisis situation the anti-crisis laws had been rejected to advance populist promises and declarations.

«That no anti-crisis law has been approved in the crisis situation and the new taxation system has not been implemented is threatening the state's macroeconomic stability. It is hard to justify the lack of economic regulations similar to those in the legislations of the Eurasian and European Unions, where our major business partners are," underscored Yevgeny Shevchuk.

He stressed the necessity of developing and implementing a new anti-monopoly law. The head of state insisted that the government and the Supreme Council should reconsider this draft law, previously rejected due to populism.

According to the president, the government does not have enough resources to cover populist economic decisions. The current situation requires a clear-cut anti-crisis plan for two or three years.

The president strongly opposed to collusion between trade networks in the market.

«The legislation should give a distinct and comprehensive differentiation between speculation and business in such issues and determine severe responsibility for using collusion instruments in Pridnestrovie's markets. It is high time that all tax crimes were considered serious and exceptionally serious offences. We must put an end to the epoch of legislative neo-liberalism in these issues, and maximum sanctions must be applied for tax crimes," said Yevgeny Shevchuk.

The president believes that «certain legislative misconception that budgets can be approved with no regard to actual circumstances and real sources must become a thing of the past.» «The citizens and government have a clear understanding that the budget cannot be supplied with words only without revising economic and tax policy elements. That is why you cannot find any real budget sources when the key elements, such as taxes and the conditions for working with offshore companies, are not changed," noted the head of state.

«System solutions must form a base for anti-crisis reforms over the period of 2−3 years," concluded the president.
