24 years anniversary of Pridnestrovie's Declaration of Independence

The document has predetermined a development path of the state

The declaration was adopted at the Supreme Council's 10th session on August 25, 1991. The deputies organised an urgent meeting late evening. During the unplanned session, they adopted one of the major documents in the republic's history — the declaration of its independence. They voted for the document unanimously.

«It is a fundamental document of independence of our state. The Declaration of Independence runs that the people of Pridnestrovie legally represented by the Supreme Council's deputies aim for creation of their own independent state," deputy of the first Supreme Council of Pridnestrovie Vladimir Yemelyanov emphasized.

Authors of the historical document are Anna Volkova, Valery Charyev, Alexander Bolshakov and Vasily Yakovlev. The Declaration of Independence has predetermined the main vectors of domestic and foreign policy development for the state. The Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic has been following this course for quarter of a century already.
