Pridnestrovie's foreign trade turnover fell by 24% in the first half of the year

As compared to the first half of the last year, amounts of the international trade transaction decreased from $1.18 billion down to $0.9 billion

In the first half of the year, Pridnestrovie's foreign trade turnover decreased by 24% down to the performance of the first 6 months of the last year, i.e. from 1.18 billion to 0,9 billion USD. According to the State Customs Committee (SCC), export decreased by 20% (to $288 million) within this period, import — by 25% (to $616 million). The Pridnestrovie's foreign trade balance is unfavourable.

Main Pridnestrovie's foreign trade partners also haven't changed during the first half of 2015. In the CIS market, the highest level of commodity turnover is in the Russian Federation (42% of total turnover), the Republic of Moldova (20%), Ukraine (9%) and Belarus (3%). Pridnestrovie's traditional trade partners in the EU market are Romania (6%), Germany (4%), Italy (4%) and Poland (2%). It should be noted that most part of the Pridnestrovie's export goes to Moldova (50% of all export), Romania (15%), the Russian Federation (8%), Italy (7%), Ukraine (6%) and Germany (5%). The remarkable fact is that more than half of the Pridnestrovie's import comes from Russia (58% of the overall import), next main importers in the list are Ukraine (11%), Moldova (7%), Germany (4%), Belarus (4%).

Leadership in commodity composition of trade is maintained by energy carriers (37% of total amount), metals and hardware (22%), foodstuff and raw materials (12%), textile (9%), footwear (7%), mineral commodities (4%) and engineering products (4%).

Among the main export leaders, delivery scope growth as compared to the H1 2014 is observed in fuel and energy goods, i.e. their export increased by 23%; as for the other categories, reduction is observed. All commodity items of the import structure suffer the reduction. The most dramatic import reduction is observed in foodstuff and raw materials — by 44%, engineering products — by 35%, textile — by 35%, metals and metalware — by 32%.
