Pridnestrovie's Price and Antimonopoly Committee and its Russian colleagues analyse implementation of cooperation memorandum

It is recalled that on 2 July 2014 the cooperation memorandum was signed between Russia's Federal Antimonopoly Service and Pridnestrovie's Price and Antimonopoly Committee

One of principal tasks of its implementation was harmonisation of Pridnestrovie's antimonopoly legislation with that of Russia, as well as the use of Russian practices.

According to the head of the PAC, Vitaliy Ulitka, the draft law «On Protection of Competition» is being currently considered by the Supreme Council.

The document has already been agreed upon with the Russian colleagues. Additionally, the law «On Domestic Trade», providing for the introduction of antimonopoly regulations in the trading network, is under preparation. It has also been submitted to the parliament for consideration.

«These laws, which are currently in force in Russia, have proved to be efficient," said Vitaliy Ulitka.

He recalled that over past years Pridnestrovie had faced difficulties purchasing spare materials in the field of health care.

«So we made a request for our Russian colleagues who already had a well elaborated legislation on healthcare substitute goods. We received their recommendations and used them to hold a tender. This allowed us to cut expenses in this area by €100.000," noted Vitaliy Ulitka.

According to him, at the next stage, after approving the law «On Protection of Competition», public procurement laws should be drafted.

«Russia can boast a good practice of applying this legislation, which is refreshed every year. Approving these laws is especially of current importance with regard to the events in the neighbouring countries," concluded Vitaliy Ulitka.
