Students of Russian Customs Academy undergoing practical training in SCC

The future customs officers will master practical skills for three weeks

For eight years the State Customs Committee (SCC) has been implementing the customs officers training programme. Within its framework, Pridnestrovian citizens receive training and enhance their professional skills at Russian Customs Academy. After graduating they return to Pridenstrovie and start working at the SCC as young specialists.

However, the JCC opens its doors for them long before their degree day. Traditionally, academy students from Pridnestrovie undergo on-site practice at their future places of work. This summer future customs officers will hone their practical skills for three weeks under supervision of experienced instructors, some of whom are also RCA graduates. The first and second year students will get to know the specifics of the JCC work right at the border. The undergraduates will master more difficult stages of work. Some of them will have practice at Tiraspol's JCC office, the JCC press service reports.

«As a result of the practical training you must clearly understand the mechanisms of customs service organisation and the reason why the process of customs control, cargo and transport clearance is arranged in this very way in Pridnestrovie," said the head of the Tiraspol customs office, Vitaliy Shapoval.

The students note that practical training are organised by the JCC at a very high level. The future customs officers show special interest in progressing from customs theory directly to working process.

«From the very beginning when we arrived, we were well received. Everyone was glad to see us. We were shown in practice the procedure of customs clearance and examination. This is what we haven't dealt with at the academy because we chiefly study theory there," says the fourth year student of the Saint Petersburg branch of RSA, Yelena Pustovit.
