According to Sergey Smirichinskiy, this document had been elaborated for four years. «Signing such agreement is, I believe, equal to the recognition of Pridnestrovie's civil society, which is the first step to the recognition of statehood. We have included friendly relations between Pridnestrovie and Russia in this document and worked out many issues on cooperation in different areas," said Smirichinskiy.

Among the scheduled joint events is the organisation of hearings in Moscow on Pridnestrovie's situation and ways out of the crisis. It is expected that issues relating to the republic's socio-economic situation, security, freedom of movement will be raised.

«There is an agreement in principle that Pridnestrovie's Public Chamber will participate in the General Assembly of the International Association of Economic and Social Councils. We have also agreed that our representatives will take part in the hearings of Russia's public chamber on the problem of broadcasting news in the CIS, which is to take place in September-October," said Smirichinskiy.

Besides, Russian representatives will attend Pridnestrovie's parliamentary and local elections this November.

«These are primary scheduled events, and thus the memorandum enables us to enter into a practical phase," concluded Smirichinskiy.
