The meeting was held according to the agreements reached at the meeting of the Pridnestrovie's and Moldova's political representatives and the expert groups on March 20, 2015 and also according to the orders of the Pridnestrovie's President and the Moldova's Prime Minister given on April 10, 2015 in Tiraspol.
During the discussion, the experts analysed the current issues concerning the opening of criminal cases by the Moldova's authorities against the Pridnestrovie's officials including the republic's leadership. They also mentioned the criminal cases opened by Pridnestrovie's authorities against some officials of Moldova.
The sides emphasised that it was necessary to search the ways of resolution for this problem with the help of corresponding legislation provisions of Pridnestrovie and Moldova. It will help us to return to the functional bilateral interaction between the law enforcement authorities of Pridnestrovie and Moldova in order to fight the crime and protect the law in the both countries effectively. The Pridnestrovie's side gave to the Moldova's experts a list of Pridnestrovie's officials, who, according to the available information, were criminally prosecuted by Moldova on the political grounds. Over hundred Pridnestrovie's officials are in that list; almost half of them were officially summoned to the Moldova's courts during the latest 2 years.
The experts agreed to hold a meeting with participation of the representatives of the Moldova's General Prosecutor Office. It will help us to start a focused consideration of the decision to close the politically motivated criminal cases against the officials of the both sides, the Foreign Ministry's Press Service reports.
