Evgeny Shevchuk: Pridnestrovie can be a self-sustainable state

According to the Head of State, we need stable conditions for external economic activity

The Pridnestrovie's President told it during the interview to the Kommersant-Vlast magazine.

«Pridnestrovie can become self-reliant. We need two conditions for this. The first is stable conditions for carrying out our foreign economic activity. A number of political decisions should be made to consolidate these conditions. Then, the Pridnestrovie's economy, bearing the hardest time nowadays, will progress more dynamically due to its good potential. Most of the economic problems arose in Pridnestrovie because there are no stable rules for our foreign economic activity," Evgeny Shevchuk stated.

The Head of State emphasized that many economic capabilities of Pridnestrovie are simply blocked by Moldova.

«The main problem is the economy. When, alongside with naturally developing situation, someone additionally restrcits our economic capabilities, so that our potential decreases, it means that these barriers should be removed, abolished or reconsidered," the President told.

The Head of Pridnestrovie noted that in today's conditions the Pridnestrovie's economy can't develop to its maximum.

«Russian Federation helps to supply socially vulnerable groups, and we are grateful for that. It should be also clear that our economic capabilities can't take full effect in some types of activity, because Pridnestrovie isn't recognized politically and because it is in blockade situation. So, this is one of the most serious Pridnestrovie's problems for these days and for the future. Our estimation shows that if the Pridnestrovie's economy be deblocked, it will become self-sustainable without large investment within three-five years," Evgeny Shevchuk noted.
