Moldova keeps blocking the decision-making in the Joint Control Commission

The day before, the JCC session lasted for more than 10 hours

This meeting has become one of the longest for the last year. After the parties adopted the agenda, they began to discuss the Joint Military Command's reports accumulated during the JCC's work blockade by the Moldova's party in the last months. The lasted for more than 10 hours. As a result, the commission members came to an agreement on 24 of them.

However, the protocol wasn't signed. The question concerning the free movement in the Safety Zone became a stumbling block again.

"It can't be denied that this question serves the interests of all parties today. We see it clearly that the criminal cases are initiated against Pridnestrovians. Our authorities are under investigation. The vehicles are stopped and cannot cross. The corresponding insurance premium payments, exactions and many other things are taken. All this impacts the Pridnestrovie's citizens," the JCC cochairman from Pridnestrovie Oleg Belyakov told.

The Pridnestrovie's delegation agreed to a compromise, and the discussion on the issue was begun. However, according to Oleg Belyakov, the offers of the Moldova's party were aimed to corrupt the peacekeeping operation again.

"The idea of the Moldova's party implicates our military to carry out functions unusual for them. For example, one the senior military commanders tells that Mr. Katsefan who always refuses to receive a migration card in Dubossary was detained at some picket again, so now and then the military observers have to establish the fact of the entry refuse because he doesn't want to obey the Pridnestrovie's laws. For some reason, the military observers have to deal with it. There's the same situation with other questions. For example, someone's vehicle ID number is stolen and the military observers have to solve it. These functions don't concern the peacekeeping, it is an attempt to discredit the military aspect," Oleg Belyakov noted.

The Joint Control Commission's work was resumed, but the parties still didn't come to the compromise on some issues.

"Actually, the Moldova's party overstepped the bounds of decency to the insults, began to play the wild, and the constructive conversation ended. We could see that it had been just a protest, to play the show. Actually, the Moldova's party sabotaged the JCC session again despite the approved agenda," Oleg Belyakov concluded.
