Russian political expert Konstantin Simonov was refused entry to Moldova

It is not the first time when the Russian citizens are examined or refused entry to the RM

The Russian political expert Konstantin Simonov was forbidden to enter Moldova for five years where he had arrived to the meeting with the journalists and the members of the international media club "A3 Format". The club's executive director Marina Safronova reported about this to TASS.

"Simonov planned to give lectures in club on the economic relations with Russia and the EU. He was refused entry, then he was examined thoroughly, his documents were checked and verified. Then he was told about his exclusion of entry to Moldova for five years, but wasn't explained the reason," Marina Safronova told. According to her, the Russian political expert expected his departure to Moscow in the airport.

"It's not the first time when the Russian citizens are examined or refused entry to the republic. Russia officially requested the Moldova's Ministry of the Foreign Affairs and the European Integration about it. They responded that measures of the border control and the representatives of other authorities were taken according to the Moldava's legislation and they wouldn't comment on them," the minister counselor of the Russian Embassy in Moldova Vsevolod Philipp told.

The chairman of the Russian Public Union party Sergey Baburin arrived to participate in the academic conference in Pridnestrovie and was detained at the Kishinev airport on February 11. He was released only after the Russian diplomats' involvement. Earlier, the head of the Pridnestrovie-Prut Center of the Russian Institute of Strategic Research Sergey Mokshantsev who accompanied legendary football players Vagiz Hidiyatullin and Oleg Romantsev to the teenage tournament "Legends of Spartak" in Pridnestrovie was examined at the airport. His deputy Vasily Kashirin was deported to Moscow after such inspection.
