Evgeny Shevchuk: When different mass media are stuffing the false slogans against us and campaigning the other nations against our republic, the core element providing the country's safety is the information security

The Head of the state commented on the Supreme Council’s decision concerning the budget reduction of the PSBC

To be noted for the reference, the deputies decided to reduce the funds of the Pridnestrovie’s State Broadcasting Company for 3 mln rubles as well as the salary budget by 7% during the latest budget discussion.

‘My attitude to this issue is negative,’ the Pridnestrovie’s President announced at the meeting with residents of Tiraspol today. ‘In my view, it is a mistake and some kind of misunderstanding. Or perhaps it’s the special effort aimed at the information security undermining.’

‘In response to the provocative war against the republic, when different mass media are stuffing the false slogans against us and campaigning the other nations against our republic, the core element providing the country's safety is the information security. This means that the state media’s broadcasting time shouldn't be reduced, but they have to broaden the variety of programs allowing the citizens Pridnestrovie to get the Pridnestrovie’s information both on the public authorities and on the events occuring in the republic,’ Evgeny Shevchuk thinks.

According to him, the company’s budget decrease will result in the broadcasting hours and staff reduction, especially of the Moldavian and Ukrainian editorial offices, and to the reduction of the TV shows number.

‘We will get into the situation of increasing external information influence, but we will have no means to inform on our own position,’ Evgeny Shevchuk emphasized.

He also thanked the Pridnestrovie’s State Broadcasting Company’s staff for the positive changes occurred at the state radio and television during the last two years.
