Head of State Agency for Energy and Common Facilities: Pridnestrovie's heat economy modernisation requires about 100 million USD

Vasily Vlasov said during "From the First Person" live programme on Pridnestrovie's First Channel that pursuant to the instructions of the Pridnestrovian president the agency experts had developed Pridnestrovie's Energy Security Concept

The monitoring of all power-supply sources has revealed critical dependence of Pridnestrovie's heat economy on natural gas supplies.

He underscored that new boiler plants, which had been installed in previous years as part of the gasification programme, were gas operated only.

"This programme was not agreed upon with heating supply enterprises, and no alternative source of energy was provided for when building these boiler plants. All the boilers are gas operated. We are prisoners of this situation," said Vasily Vlasov.

According to the head of agency, the modernisation of Pridnestrovie's heat economy, providing for alternative sources of energy, will cost about 100 million USD, including 10 million USD to re-equip socially significant facilities.
