President inspects power structures' scheduled exercises

The commander-in-chief has noted an excellent task performance by the special forces during military exercises

The commander-in-chief of Pridnestrovie's armed forces, President Yevgeny Shevchuk, has observed today the scheduled exercises of the Defence Ministry, Interior Ministry and KGB special forces. In particular, Yevgeny Shevchuk controlled a training anti-terrorist operation.

The president noted the excellent task performance, as well as the coherence and interaction of the special forces.

"It is very important that our republic's armed forces should comprise efficient, mobile detachments and military units capable of inflicting maximum damage to any aggressor in a very short time," underscored Yevgeny Shevchuk.

The head of state also added that Pridnestrovie adhered to the defence doctrine.

"However, there are radical groups in the neighbouring states which propose military solutions to political issues.  That's why keeping the power structures in a high state of readiness is one of our top-priority objectives," said the commander-in-chief.

Yevgeny Shevchuk expressed gratitude to the personnel for the high level of training proficiency and successful fulfilment of operational and strategic tasks. The president also presented blue berets to the paratroopers.

Finally, the commander-in-chief charged the Ministry of Defence with working out proposals on privileged admission to the republic's universities for those special forces troopers who have passed compulsory military service.
