Dmitriy Rogozin to take part in commemoration of Iasi-Kishinev operation anniversary

Special Envoy of the Russian President to Pridnestrovie, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitriy Rogozin announced his intention in an interview with the Russian newspaper Izvestiya.

"I am going to visit Tiraspol on 24 August and take part in the celebration. However, I realize that it won't be so easy to get to Tiraspol as I expect soon to be put in Ukraine's sanction list. I can't travel via Ukraine - the plane can be forced to land. Traveling via Bulgaria or Rumania is not easy, either. But I'll figure this out somehow," said Dmitriy Rogozin.

The Iasi-Kishinev operation took place in the period of 20-29 August, 1944.Following the valiant battles, the whole territory of the Moldavian SSR was liberated, and Romania was forced to join the Allies.The Iasi-Kishinev operation is one ofthe so-called Stalin's ten blows - ten biggest offensives conducted by the Red Army against the Axis forces in 1944.
