Tiraspol, 28 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The government will develop a mortgage programme for housing cooperative members, President Vadim Krasnoselsky instructed the executive body during an extended meeting with the leadership of the government, the Supreme Council, state administrations and road enterprises.
The president stressed that the cooperative mortgage loan should be given in rubles, at a small interest and for a long period.
Deputy Minister of Economic Development Ivan Untu said that work underway to turn protracted buildings into housing cooperatives. According to him, today citizens are participating as shareholders in the construction of ten buildings throughout the country. At the moment, Untu said, the local authorities have chosen contractors and calculated the cost of the construction works. The development of projects will start in the near future.
Taking into account a large number of applications for housing in Tiraspol (625 applications for 150 flats) Vadim Krasnoselsky instructed the city administration to consider the possibility of expanding the list of construction projects.
