SCC chairman puts forth proposals to prevent fuel crisis

Business community representatives have taken a timeout to study them

Tiraspol, 2 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The chairman of the State Customs Committee (SCC), Yury Gervazyuk, have organised and held today a meeting with representatives of Pridnestrovie's major fuel exporters, the committee's press service reports.

Yury Gervazyuk focused on the importance of uninterrupted fuel supply to Pridnestrovie, which is an integral aspect in securing the state's energy security. This issue becomes especially urgent during a harvesting campaign. The head of the committee wondered if the current customs procedures prevent fuel imports and received a reply: «The customs work smoothly.»

At the same time, fuel suppliers state that the main problem today is the absence of foreign currency to buy fuel. A representative of each company informed the JCC chairman about their fuel reserves and the average time they spend on each transaction from purchasing fuel to supplying it to the PMR.

Customers and economic agents shared opinions on possible ways of solving the problem. The chairman of the SCC voiced a number of proposals on which the state could become a guarantor of replenishing companies' fuel reserves, but businessmen took a timeout to study these proposals.
