Vitaly Ignatiev: The development of diplomatic contacts with Ukraine is one of the priorities for the PMR

About 100 thousand Ukrainian citizens live in the republic, and they need consular services

Tiraspol, February 15. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Interaction between Pridnestrovie and Ukraine in 2023 remained limited. At the same time, in December there was a certain restoration of diplomatic contacts between Tiraspol and Kyiv, which indicates the Ukrainian side’s awareness of its regional interests and readiness to return to bilateral dialogue.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovie, Vitaly Ignatiev, stated this at today’s reporting board of the PMR Foreign Ministry. He recalled that on December 18, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Paun Rogovey visited Tiraspol.

“According to the PMR Foreign Policy Concept, the development of cooperation with Ukraine is one of the priorities of Pridnestrovie’s foreign policy,” Vitaly Ignatiev emphasized.

The Minister added that an important issue there was the optimization of consular services for Ukrainian citizens who permanently live in Pridnestrovie. There are about 100 thousand of them.
