Tiraspol, April 18. / Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The term «Transnistria» used in the West is unacceptable for Pridnestrovie: it arose during the fascist-Romanian occupation for designation of Romanian «governorship» from which it was planned «to extort all resources». It is necessary to break down negative stereotypes about the republic the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky claimed during the working meeting with the Prime Minister Alexander Martynov.

«The term «Transnistria» concerning Pridnestrovie is thought up by the Moldavian side. But initially, it appeared during World War II, defining the zone of the left coast of the Dniester occupied by Romanians. It included Pridnestrovie and a part of Malorossia», - the Head of the state told.

The term «Transnistria» is an occupational concept connected with fascism and nazism, Vadim Krasnoselsky explained.

The Head of the state reminded ethnic cleansing in Dubossary in September 1941 when in one week the occupying authorities shot tens of thousands of Jews.

«Personally for me as for the person, who respects the history, the people, the term «Transnistria» is a synonym to the word «Holocaust», - the President of the PMR noted.

Therefore, the Head of the state emphasized, application of this term as the name of our state is inadmissible and offensive.

«Everybody has to hear it. Communicating with colleagues, including with the western diplomats, I recommend not to use the word «Transnistria» in relation to Pridnestrovie. Pridnestrovie will be recognized. Foreigners should get used to saying its true name», – Vadim Krasnoselsky noted.
