Pridnestrovian athlete brakes world record in powerlifting

Alexander Semerenko lifted 185 kg in back squat in the World Cup in Kursk and topped 4.5 kg an old record

Tiraspol, August 15. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The World Cup in powerlifting, benchpress, deadlift and multi-repeat benchpress according to AWPC was held in Kursk between August 10 and August 14.

The trainee of the Tiraspol Titan Club Alexander Semerenko competing in the Raw Amateur Division managed to brakes the junior record achievements (athletes of 20−23 years). Alexander Semerenko lifted 185 kg and topped 4,5 kg an old record in back squat in weight category below 67,5 kg.

Tiraspol resident also broke the record in benchpress lifting 138 kg, Radio 1 reports.

We will remind, Tiraspol resident Pyotr Chekushkin set a record among cadets in benchpress last year in Kursk.
